Ticket Gate Advertising 6 Times More Effective
Date: 5/12/2005
T4 Media, the specialist out-of-home media contractor, has just published the results of a recently commissioned survey undertaken to measure levels of consumer awareness and recognition for the Times 2 (The Times) campaign at Liverpool St Station using AdGates ticket gate advertising.
The survey, undertaken by ICQS accredited interviewers Clarke Chapman, has revealed that advertiser recall was at a level of 68% for Times 2 on AdGates. When asked what type of advertising they recalled seeing, 83% said ticket gates (AdGates). This was attributed to the AdGates wall of advertising that dominates all the station platform entrances and exits.
At a time when circulation figures are in decline for most newspapers, The Times is bucking that trend and enjoying increasing sales figures. This success is, in part, due to their informed advertising strategy. They recognise that non-traditional formats are the fastest growing sector in out-of-home and are an influential format for successful campaigns.
AdGates is ticket gate advertising at railway stations, developed by T4Media. It is an interactive medium that requires the audience to actually walk through the advertising message and therefore cannot be missed. This enables independent verification of audience figures - meaning all AdGates campaigns are totally accountable.
On publishing these results Marco Pieters, Managing Director of T4 Media said: “News International have achieved success for both The Sun and The Times with AdGates. The Times campaign research achieved a 68% recall against a figure of just 10% for all other poster advertising. The numbers speak for themselves and show the massive power of AdGates campaigns. When a top media owner like News International repeatedly chooses to use AdGates, it speaks for itself."
